Guided by each family’s concerns, priorities and resources, Virginia early intervention personnel strive to provide supports and services that facilitate smooth, seamless transitions into, within, and out of early intervention services. This landing pad highlights research, policies, and position statements (What Does the Evidence Say?), print materials (Read All About It), videos and DVDs (See for Yourself), and web resources (Find It Online) to support those efforts. Featured resources are high-quality, readily available, and no-cost or low-cost. A special section (Virginia Guidance) features competencies, technical assistance documents, and other state-specific resources.

National Early Childhood Transition Center (NECTC)

The Center's mission is to examine factors that promote successful transitions between infant/toddler programs, preschool programs, and public school programs for young children with disabilities and their families. NECTC has developed rich resources (including a searchable database of transition research, policy and practice), authored practical and scholarly publications, and clarified complicated issues such as transition issues and barrier for children with special needs who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
