This learning path provides guidance, resources, and strategies to assist early interventionists to support families with infants and toddlers with hearing loss.
To get credit for this learning path, you must complete the 3 lessons below, then take a quiz to test your knowledge. Once you have completed the learning path and scored at least 80% on the quiz, you will have access to a certificate of completion.

Lesson 2: Hearing Screening
Complete the following activities:
- Activity 1: Read Hearing Screening Form Instructions and review the Hearing Screening Form
- Activity 2: Watch Early Intervention - Shared Plan of Care for Children with Hearing and review the Shared Plan of Care for Early Interventionists
This lesson focuses on screening information for infants and toddlers referred to Part C, early intervention.
Instructions: Complete both activities of lesson 2.

Lesson 3: A Virginia Call to Action for Children with Hearing Loss
Complete the following 5 activities:
- Activity 1: Watch the Elevator Speech on Grafton Special Services Program (GSSP)
- Activity 2: Watch the Elevator Speech on Virginia’s Deafblind Project
- Activity 3: Watch the Elevator Speech on Virginia’s Technical Assistance Center for Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Activity 4: Watch the Elevator Speech on the Center for Family Involvement
- Activity 5: Watch the Elevator Speech on The Role of 1-3-6 Family Educators
This lesson provides information for early interventionists for next steps when an infant or toddler screening indicates a potential hearing concern.
