The VA EI eLearning Center is designed to provide practitioners with high quality, interactive professional development on early intervention topics. Each module is available as a free resource and results in a certificate of completion.

This podcast is designed so EI practitioners like you can easily listen between visits or on breaks during your busy day. Each episode focuses on an important topic that is discussed by two experienced EI professional development specialists who have also been service coordinators, service providers, and parents of children enrolled in EI.

Early intervention is all about supporting families of infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. It’s often hard, frequently inspiring, and always beautiful work. Join our conversation to discover tips and strategies, share insights, and learn from others who are working right alongside you.

In-depth, up-to-date learning on current early intervention topics facilitated by topic-experts equipped with the latest in evidence-based practices and research findings. Each webinar fulfills 2.75 hours of professional development.

Kaleidoscope, New Perspectives in Service Coordination is an introductory level training program for new early intervention (EI) service coordinators. The training program includes completion of three components:

• The Many Facets of Service Coordination (external website) online module


• Kaleidoscope Training – one face-to-face training day


• Kaleidoscope Community of Practice - three monthly web-based meetings with the cohort who attended the training day to support implementation of the concepts learned from the module and training

Learning bytes are brief learning activities that supervisors, faculty, or other leaders can use to facilitate professional development with staff or students. These activities are designed to be of short duration and explore topics of importance to EI practitioners. Each learning byte includes instructions and any handouts, links, worksheets, and answer keys needed to facilitate the activity with small or large groups.

Learning Paths are small collections of curated activities that focus on an early intervention topic. To learn about the topic, you will complete each activity on the path. Activities might include reading an article, taking an online module, watching a video, etc. Once you complete the learning path, you will take a final quiz to earn a certificate documenting the professional development hours earned.

Early interventionists (EIs) play a critical role nurturing the relationship between the caregiver and child to enhance all children’s social and emotional development to promote successful future outcomes. This podcast focuses on infant mental health topics that support the emotional well-being of all families. Join us to listen and reflect to promote meaningful moments for all families in early intervention.

Resource Pop-Ups are 30-minute webinars designed to highlight a group of early intervention resources that local system managers, supervisors, mentors, and trainers can use to support staff development. These webinars are scheduled periodically and focus on how to combine resources during activities that build knowledge and strengthen practices.

SC Chats are interactive webinars featuring guest speakers, breakout rooms, and engaging discussions, designed to foster learning and collaboration.

Talks on Tuesdays are free, live webinars held from noon to 1pm EST on the first Tuesday of each month. These webinars focus on important topics that are relevant for EI practitioners and are chosen based on feedback from practitioners about what they need to know more about!
